I play Simon says with these kids and have them touch their own body parts. For example, "Touch your nose." Then I add a part to it where we all say "I am touching my nose." He would have to say "I am..." to move on to the next part of the game. Just play it for a few minutes. Make it your "warm up" to good listening or something at the beginning of each session and he will get the "I" part pretty quickly. I've used this with children who are visually impaired and children whoare autistic.
