Hi Everyone
I am an SLP working in the school system. I have 2 kids on my caseload right now (Grade 5 and Grade 7) who present with moderate dysfluency but neither child sees this as a problem. They are aware that they stutter at times (though they think it happens much less than it actually does). These kids are very social and participate actively in class. My question is, do I see these kids regularly for therapy if they don't think they have an issue with their speech? It isn't affecting their interactions and their motivation is going to be low if they don't perceive a problem in the first place. But of course, given that I can hear the stuttering, I feel obliged to help! Any thoughts?? Thanks!
