I have some boxes of cards with short passages and then questions on the back and one is titled
Making Inferences. I use these in Secondary but they may be adapted for use verbally with a 5 year old.
Learning Development Aids, Duke street, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, PE13 2AE, England.
They are quite old so I don't know if they'd still be available.
