Minimal pairs (go/doe, key/tea) are helpful, we talk about the two pictures and then I ask my student to say the word with his target sound. If he fronts the sound, I give him the wrong picture. I also do modified cycles therapy, with lots of play and practice saying a few select words with the target sound. Both techniques assume that your student is stimulable for the sounds, though. If not, then you'll have to start with shaping the sounds.
