Hi - what exactly do you want explained about it? There are three main areas of stuttering therapy - fluency shaping, stuttering modification and a combo of the two. Fluency shaping is focusing completely on making the person speak more fluently without disucssing feelings/emotions or teaching the tools that deal with stuttering (such as pull-outs, cancellations, etc.). Some of the tools that are more attached to fluency shaping are: light articulatory contact (light touch), easy beginnings (easy onsets), pausing and phrasing, teaching breathing, ect - Basically anything that increases fluency without addressing stuttering.
Most SLPs (that I've interacted with at least) do the combo approach.
