Hi gbpack,
You've tried every traditional artic therapy technique! Have you looked at his jaw position while he is attempting /k/ production?
If he has an open mouth posture with anterior tongue position he will not be able to achieve /k/.
Give him a cue to "close his teeth" and and think of "tensing his tongue and /or "growling." Barring any structural challenges, he should "get it."
