My standard protocol is 32, 30-minute sessions for the duration of the school year (960 minutes). In the case of a child seen 2x/wk that would be 64, 30minute sessions (1920 minutes)
I don't have many (if any) kids that I see less than that. But of course, it all depends on your caseload, time spent at school (I am full time), school district (standards vary - 1 session can = 20min/30min/45min), and the needs of your kids.
Can you manipulate these numbers if you feel that a kid needs more/less time at the next annual IEP meeting? Sometimes we can state less required sessions for reasons such as poor attendance on the student's part.
