GAMES! Go to www.mes~english.com and print/laminate the game "Get'em". It's a card game like rock, paper, scissors. Also, www.speechtherapygames.com has some inexpensive games. I found the older kids like all of the battle games that I purchased off her site. Jenga is also a lot of fun for this age-group. If you have several groups, have the kids compete with the other groups for the group that builds the highest tower before it falls. Post on your wall group #1 = 20 rows group #2 = 22 rows, etc. The kids loved competing with the other kids. This could last for weeks as the kids like having a second or third chance to beat a group. Also on a dry-erase board, make a huge target with different points for each ring. Have the kids throw those balls that have suction cups all over them - it's kinda like a games of darts. Hope these give you some new ideas - they worked well with my 5th/6th graders as fun, motivating games.
