I can't cite research, but why do you have to? Why can't you just state what you prefer to do and then tell why is necessary? Many of us see most kids twice a week for 20 minute sessions. Naturally I see some individually or some once a week, but no one ever for 60 min. That's crazy to me. How much time can you really be doing therapy? 60 min. must involve a lot of "filler". Also, what teacher wants a kid out of the room for that long? Detrimental to academic progress. I'd try changing it for next year.
