Our district has started scheduling our speech students so many minutes per semester (820 minutes per semester planned at 2 x 30 weekly).
I know we need to schedule sessions based on the student's needs, but yet scheduling has to be realistic to meet federal/state compliance.
I am only at one of the schools I serve two half days weekly. So, when I schedule minutes I try to take into consideration that I may have to miss school due to illness and other obligations.
I don't miss work very often, but my parents are both in bad health and I am concerned that I may have to miss work more than usual to help with their care. Should I take this into consideration when I schedule minutes? I am afraid that I won't be able to meet their minutes.
The principal wants me to see students 900 minutes per semester. Is he being realistic?
Anyone care to share how many minutes you serve your students and how often you see your students?
