I have a 9 year old student who can not produce a /k/. I have tried tongue depressors, finger touch, lying on his back, cheerio technique and every time he reverts back to a /t/. He is bright, does well in class, he passed the school hearing screening as well. He does have a slight overbite, and he has a very hard time opening his mouth---even when I ask him to open wide--It's hard to explain, but it looks like he has a small mouth that contains a large tongue, but it is hard to really take a look. Any ideas what to try?
