If the child is old enough, you could give the Sentence Formulation subtest of the CELF-4. I'd also do some informal assessments by asking the child to retell a procedure (brushing teeth, making a pb&j sandwich), retelling all of the events in his/her day, or retelling a story (i.e., what he/she did over the weekend, what happened in a particular movie).
Like the previous poster, I am not sure if you mean language formulation disfluencies, word retrieval issues, grammar issues, or something else.
