I have a book called "Articumazing Stories and Activities" that has stories called "Darren the Dreadful Dragon" and "The Principal Surprise." Would that be it? It's from Linguisystems, published in 1992. I also have another one (at my other building) that has stories with alternate endings you can choose from. They're heavily weighted with /s/ and /z/. I can't remember the name of that one, but they're at a 4th or 5th grade reading level.
