yes, another /k/ question

I have been working on /k/ & /g/ with a 5 year old and have made ZERO progress. A therapist before me tried to teach the sound by her making this weird breathy coughing sound & I can't get her to make better contact with the soft palate. /g/ is absolutely unstimuable. I have tried the throat clear, laying her on her back, tongue depressors to show placement, so what now???
