We have state eligibility criteria as well but in can be a tad ambiguous. Also, irregardless of the state criteria, parents tend to win in court...so it can be tricky at times, particularly when it comes to social skills. Also in court standardized scores are only part of the child....you have to look at the whole child and often leads to subjective measures. I mean....many of my kids on the spectrum can do well on the pragmatic assessments but observations show they cannot use those skills. Its not so easy these days.
We do our best to stick to state eligibility criteria when we can but I have no useful info for you, sorry! I would love to hear what others are doing.
