Reinforcers are the key! If he likes to throw things, get bean bags and have him request them thru picture spymbols or sign or eye contact. Talk to his parents and teachers and find out what he likes, what he gets for himself, etc. and recreate those things in your therapy, but ALWAYS under your control so he has to request from you to get what he wants. Ignore the negative behaviors as much as you can so you're not reinforcing them at all, and if possible get a second person to be a prompter for picture exchange. Hang in there!
