I use the student's reading material for artic drill and practice. I pick 20 words with their target sound and 10-20 phrases directly from the story they are reading. I also use vocabulary words from their story too. I have them hightlight their target sounds before they read them. I do this so they (hopefully) will carryover their target sounds into the classroom.
I also have the students bring their spelling words to speech. For speech homework they have to say, spell and say a sentence for any spelling words that have their target sounds.
