As a first year therapist I know I do not have the experience to even provide my opinion. I do think this site is amazing and has helped me in so many ways in grad school. I think this site shouldnt be for is venting. Instead of venting, one could present a challenge they are faced at work and ask for solutions from others on how to move foward. After reading the posts from the older slps, I am inclined to feel somewhat discouraged. I work in a school and happen to love it. I love working with kids of all ages and helping them acquire and remediate language and even learn from my teachers, OTs, and PTs.
The US world news report 2009 indicates that the Univ of Iowa is the top rated (that is where I went). My graduate program did not offer any courses related to Articulation Disorders,it was geared towards the anatomy, etiology, etc. I pretty much learned from my clinic experiences and my student teaching. Most of the classes related to pediatrics was geared towards language disorders.
I see where both viewpoint are coming from and I think people need to be sympathetic to both sides.
