Wow! I'd say an hour is way too long for a child that age. You probbly have no choice. Have all of your pictures/targets ready and then have many different activities. You have him practice some sounds or words with you and then let him play for a few minutes. You'll need things on hand for play and I think you'll need to change the activity often.
