I probably could take a lot of offense at your post, slpgrl. You make some pretty sweeping generalizations about those of us with the most experience. I've been in the field for 27 years, and I continue to update my knowledge and skills on a regular basis. I attend conferences, network with others, do online research, read my ASHA journals, and do whatever I can to make sure I'm providing the very best, most up-to-date, research based services I can. I've had every one of the "multiple opportunities" you speak of, and many more. You mentioned seeing the pendulum swing. Do you not think it's been doing that since long before you were born? Believe me, I've seen a whole lot of changes. Please keep an open mind and realize that there are many of us who are "seasoned" and are still at the top of our games. Oh, and one more thing: I know how to use capital letters and punctuation marks to make my written language so much easier to read. You might try it.
