I do not think that you are narrow-minded at all. I feel the same way you do. I've been in this profession for a very, very ,very long time as well and I must say that I have not enjoyed the way our profession as SLPs have gone. I have to deal with working on social skills, teaching reading, math, and spelling, all of these different syndromes the students are entering public school with and the list goes on and on. I entered this profession to help children learn to use correct articulation just as you did. I went back to school and received my degree in a different field(in education) because of stress, unruly children, parents and higher ups that do not support me. So don't you feel bad at all.
