Rule of thumb, if she can elevate the tongue for say /t,d,l,& n/ that's probably sufficient for the /r/. What works for me quite often is have the kid say /we,le,re/ demonstrating the lip rounding for the /w/, the tongue elevation for the /l/ and then say now do /le/ again but put your tongue as far back as you can--I sometimes don't even demonstate the /re/. Frequently they come out with a very good /r/ and they are shocked. Once they hear it, feel it and know they can say it--progress is fast.
