I am stumped too!
This is what I have been doing. Please share what you have been doing.
1) Laying down on the floor while producing /k/ words.
2) Used mirror, penlight to show placement of articulators.
3) Using a tongue depressor to hold the tongue down
4) Tactile and visual cues.
