i just read something from my college textbook that i use with a girl that i see and its working. get tongue placement for /d/ and add vowel /a/ so sounds like /da/ say it slowly over and over and then pull tongue out in same position and pull tongue back in, then work it into an /er/. this should give the correct or approximate placement for /er/. good luck
