/r/ and short frenulum

I have been working with a 7 year old student who can't produce an accurate /r/. I have noticed that she has a very short lingual frenulum. She is unable to produce a retroflexed /r/ because she can't lift her tongue and pull it back. She also has difficulty just pulling her tongue back so the lateral margins touch her molars. Her /r/ always sounds like "uh." Does anyone have any suggestions?
