Well, I have to say that the Spartan D played with some pride. However, if Odum doesn't move to a 4-man front he's this is the way it's going to be for the rest of the season: long drives, and exhaustion.
The Offense didn't help at all. You have to put it on to a young OL. However, the scheme is all wrong. I saw so many times that an Spartan Olineman player just let pass a Washington Dlineman assuming that the next lineman next to him would pick it up. He would then just be standing with nothing to do! The problem is that that other lineman had his hands full.
Either Robbins isn't calling the right alignments or something is very wrong with the Oline coaching.
Malik Roberson is a stud. That dude is just hard to bring down. I would like to see some of Brandon Monroe. He has power and speed. BB just doesn't have the capacity to take any chances on personnel. How sad.
Anyway, at least this wasn't the grinding disappointment that the Davis game was. I hope the Spartans get better. The OC isn't very creative yet. Hope that changes.
Good Luck Spartans!!!!!!
I agree. The three-man rush is not working. The defensive backfield did its job. It was great to see back-to-back interceptions. It definitely made the Pirate reconsider going for it on fourth downs.
