It's always best to play up towards the better levels of competition. As my son has found out recently with soccer...last team he was on was a simple, rec league for kids to get exercise. Now he's on a competitive team that looks to develope kids and get them ready for the next level. It's a different mindset and different experience. He's seeing the game at a whole new "speed". This isn't anything new, it's just reality.
The Spartans will beat the likes of UC Davis, Cal Poly, and Portland State, but, and no disrespect here, will play down to that level. But playing-up against Pac-12 competition "opens the eyes". It was awesome that some of the young bucks saw it, felt it, and lived it. By being fairly competitive, it proves they belong. That confidence is gonna walk just a little bit taller next time on the field.

: Overall I saw some good things from the
: Spartans. The defense was good at times.
: Josh Love got the O going when I thought it
: was all over. Some dropped passes set him
: back a little but I would like to see him
: get more time. Zamore Zigler is ready for
: prime time. Trey Hartley is a stud as I've
: been saying for over a year, I hope he
: wasn't injured and miss any games. I'm just
: still mystified about RC not using any
: timeouts to end the game? What was up with
: that?
