On the positive side of things...

The Spartans worked out of some jams: the 4th-and-22 was great, they also had a couple of 3-and-longs that the converted. They also ran the ball relatively well against a good front DL and LB. I took account of the sacks and calculate that they had 3.8yds per attempt. I think that he Spartans should run the outside slants more, it seems that gives Deleone and Tyuler some room to maneuver. Anyway, I was glad to hear "gain of 6 yards or gain of 5 yards." instead of "no gai." Like in the past. I didn't see the game, but did David Fales hang on to the ball to long, or was USU on him right away? Now that I think about it, I remember thinking "why doesn't he throw it away." He's going to have to show his athleticism from now on. Maybe I shouldn't have been so hard on the OL.
