Fales held on to the ball too long.
Normally that means nobody is open,
if nobody is open a QB should feel
the pressure and roll out and/or
throw the ball away, which are good
decisions. He wasn't making good
decisions and took 13 sacks for -100
yards. It was a total team fail.
There were a lot of miraculous plays but
starting out slow like that makes the offense
1 dimensional. I think it was 28-3 in the first
quarter. That's just ridiculous. They have
way too much firepower for that ultra conservative play calling. We've seen them start
fast, Colorado State comes to mind, so we
know they can do it. They're stopping themslves, 3 straight running plays up the middle in the redzone is fine if you have the ability. I think
they should realize by now they don't have the
horses for that. I don't think they should
abandon the run game altogether.
There were a lot of positives but so many
mistakes just outweigh them.

: Yes, the coaches have to do some
: self-evaluation also, I agree that it was a
: team loss. However, the WR were getting
: open, and if Fales had time he was finding
: them. I still fault the OL mostly, I
: listened over internet radio and the
: announcers kept saying that USU was not
: using the blitz very often, they were
: getting to Fales with 3 and 4 man rushes.
: Bascally, our OL was MAN HANDLED!!!! Have to
: fix that for LA TECH.
