That being said there's a lot of talent there
and now real-time game experience for the guys
stepping into starting roles.
That last mistake (the int at the end), I think
they were going for the tie to try to get the
ball to the middle of the field.
Our receivers have the droppsies (a curable
mental disorder). Hopefully they can get their
heads back into the game soon.
I don't have any tape to go off of and I don't
get the P12 nets so the only thing I have to go
off of is what I witnessed from the visitor
section in the corner of the endzone. It's hard
to say who or what happens in game from that
view but there were a lot of positives.
*1. David Fales is a damn good player. Your right
he can develop into a great QB with some time.
*2. The defense bowed up (especially the front 7)
and made some crucial stops when they had to and
put us in a position to win the game.
*3. The Offense had it's moments but needs more
practice (get faster) getting the plays in.
*4. The DB's actually did quite well, better
than last year (Obviously).
*5. Saw some good play on both lines, remember
we're talking about Stanford here.
*6. Nobody was seriously hurt and the goal is to
win the WAC. To me we're right on schedule,
just have to clean up some stuff, all
manageable IMO.
*7. We cannot afford to overlook anybody (Nobody
can really). Use UC Davis as OUR tune-up to
really open up and teach the guys what to do
when there's blood in the water. As the
Stanford game wore on you could really sense
that they were kind of "out of sync" due to
(the success of the offense and the defensive
surge). When they're on their heels and
breathing heavy, that's when you let 'em have
it. Sometimes going conservative you shoot your
own self in the foot. Learn to go for the
throat and pile it on until the clock says 0:00.
IMO that's why we schedule these games with
Davis. There's no reason what so ever to go all
conservative. Let loose the Krakken(sp?).
