Would we pay 60K to play in the CBI? That's what Stanford did to host Boise -- killed the overrated Bumcos. However, only 1,200 people showed up (I think they included the people working at the game. So unless they charged $50 per person... they got hosed. And this after they laid off a few people in the athletic dept.
Don't feel too bad for Stanford... all the CBI teams drew on average 2K for the six games. With Wichita state 6K being the largest crowd.
NIT didn't do much better with an average of 5K... tops was Creighton with 9K (doubling Florida's turnout).
