This post is not a trashing. I woke up to read the sports section as I always do and rightly figured SCU's loss in the WCC tournament would be the lead article. Read bits of that, read bits about Fred Lewis, and then looked for anything on the Spartans' win yesterday. All I found (I know I'm borderline senile) was the line score right next to the classifieds. Set me right here, did I miss something? The Spartans are off to their best start in 12 years and this is all they get?! A new pitching coach possibly making a huge difference. A head coach who is still a kid and still has "it" and getting stronger in, oh, so many ways. I still read the Merc and will continue to take it but I'd expect a lot more coverage for something like this. I'll try to be fair here and mention Stanford's win over Texas giving Texas their first loss of the year at 11-1 was also treated equally as the Spartans. I know things are tough at the Merc and I wonder how this affects coverage of the Spartans? 9-0! Jeesh, c'mon.
