I've always been impressed with Valine because even his outs were hit hard. However, I still think it's a problem finding a spot in the lineup outside of DH. I know, I know, I'll get flack for that statement. He's built like Pablo Sandoval and I have problems with that. Boy, they both can hit, though. If Bellows can revert to the form of his freshman year and Stienstra can continue AND Martin can have a good year, it means trouble for the WAC.

: UOP had 3 doubles and 1 triple. We had no
: extra base hits but still won. Now that is
: an accomplishment. Glad to see Bellows
: back. He got three hits which is a
: breakthrough. He was a bit slow to get out
: of the gate in the hitting department but
: now seems to have found that groove again.
: Good to see Stienstra get two hits. He was
: a force last year. Valine continues to
: impress. Good stuff! Go Spartans!!

: Berner pitched another GREAT game, but
: another
: hero is Anthony Vega. When he came in to
: shut out a rally in the 8th inning, he
: absolutely shut down Pacific for the rest of
: the game. So far, he is the best closer I
: have ever seen at SJS. You can thank Tom
: Kunis for all of this. I was a pitching
: coach in high school baseball and I can tell
: you, Coach Kunis is the best pitching coach
: I have ever personally seen. We are blessed
: to have him.
