I know, as we all do, things are better but they are still pretty scary for sports as well as education in general. Public education in CA from K-12 is a disaster; I taught and coached (still volunteer and sub) at Andrew Hill HS so I have dealt with this downward spiral for years firsthand. Just look how we rate with the other states. A disgrace. The same pretty much applies to higher education also. We should feel fortunate that we are able to argue who is going to play defensive end next year. Not many in this state can (SDSU and FSU along with us with Cal Poly coming along). With that being said I give to the alumni association as well as the school of science when my wallet has a few dollars to spare. Sports? I have had season tickets for football the last couple of years. I always buy two and have extreme difficulty finding someone to go with me. Ain't that sick? I will buy season tickets next year for both football and basketball. I used to have season tickets when they played at the Civic but those holders were not taken care of when the EC opened and I let them drop. I am no longer angry and ready to put money where my mouth is. I just bought baseball season tickets even though I will attend only a few due to my commitment to Hill baseball (we're going to win it all, baby!). I figure it was the least I could do. I've written elsewhere what coach Sam said he like to have for the program. If I was Daddy Warbucks I'd open my wallet and buy that new stadium to make a good home for the Spartans. To finish, I'm not trying to stick a needle in you fans, I'm just stating what I've done to help in my small way. So, when do we get to re-up for football? You'd think they'd like to get the money now.
