A preferred walk-on is invited to camp. A regular walk-on is someone who just shoes up. Jon Moreno (starting right tackle) just showed up -- but earned a scholarship.
Coach Tomey made it a point of saying that getting walk-ons will be harder now that the State universities are limiting enrollment. So they also have to be pretty good students.
