Why should "we" get a larger slice? We didn't earn the money - Hawaii did. This is nothing more socialistic thinking carried to the Nth degree. "oh goody, we're going to get more money cuz someone else in the conference had a great year". How do we describe that attitude?
Achievement without accomplishment?
Sorry I don't buy it. And for a more pragmatic reason it's a bad idea. If you ever wanted to give a Hawaii, Boise or Fresno another really big reason to bolt the conference, just start screwing around with the reward structure for the bowl games.
When these schools start to see that their hard work, planning and effort results in the conferences "bottom-feeders" getting a larger paycheck (at the achievers expense) those schools will be looking to get out of the WAC faster than you can say "Jack Robinson".
Bad move by a numbskull commissioner and his ham-handed staff.
