Good addition Phil. leaving out points scored and point given up -- one of the most vital of stats -- was an oversight that screamed out for inclusion in retrospect. Thanks for the save.

: Thanks for posting those stats Bambi.
:
: The two on field stats I am most concerned
: with from Last season is last season the
: team scored 20.4 and gave up 29.3. Those
: numbers need to be reversed for the team to
: have a successful season this year. Those
: are close to the numbers the team had in ’06
: and look where they finished. One thing to
: think about is that in ’06, even with those
: good “O” and “D” numbers, many of the teams
: wins were very close and could have gone
: either way as were a couple of the losses. I
: say we need to average 30 – 33 ppg to go
: bowling this season.

: Didn't know this: "San Jose State and
: LSU
: shared the national lead in 2007 for fewest
: fumbles with three." -- but some of
: this is due to passing so often
:
: "San Jose State has ranked in the
: top-20
: nationally in turnover margin the last two
: seasons. The Spartans were seventh at
: plus-13
: and 13th in 2006 at plus-9." -- such a
: figure is usually associated with a 7-4 or
: so team but SJSU's running limited the final
: record
:
: Offensive Starters Back (6)
:
: WR David Richmond, 6-4, 200, Sr.
: OT Fred Koloto, 6-3, 290, So.
: OG Isaac Leatiota, 6-4, 295, So.
: C Ronnie Castillo, 6-0, 292, Jr.
: TE Brian Elledge, 6-3, 210, Sr.
: WR Kevin Jurovich, 6-0, 183, Sr.
:
: Defensive Starters Back (6)
:
: DL Jarron Gilbert, 6-6, 280, Sr.
: DT Adonis Davis, 6-1, 295, Jr.
: DE Carl Ihenacho, 6-3, 245, Jr.
: DE Justin Cole, 6-3, 240, Jr.
: CB Christopher Owens, 5-10, 170, Sr.
: S Duke Ihenacho, 6-1, 200, So.
:
: But Lowery's and Castelo's departures have
: to hurt. However, good nucleuses on O and D
: make it more filling in holes than any sort
: of rebuild.

: KEY TEAM STATS
:
: FIRST DOWNS (Rushing-Passing-Penalty) SJSU
: 229 (63-136-30) OPPONENTS 271 (117-144-10)

: game going
:
: RUSHING ATTEMPTS-YARDAGE SJSU 385-1005
: OPPONENTS 437-1985 -- wow, look at the

:
: TOTAL OFFENSE SJSU 4177 OPPONENTS 4896 --
: gotta even this one up
:
: PENALTIES-YARDS SJSU 77-550 OPPONENTS 95-793

: smartly
:
: TIME OF POSSESSION/GAME SJSU 30:11 OPPONENTS

: 61/180 (34%) OPPONENTS 84/173 (49%) -- 49%
