I agree with SpartaRick. I appreciate that Reed was beyond awesome out of high school and I was drooling along with everybody else when he said he would join SJSU, but we certainly are deep at that position. Tomey has said as much, and that he hasn't decided on a starter (I can imagine the huge disclaimer he must have given Reed about having to earn the starter spot when he joined SJSU). And as much as I like to entertain the possibility that Reed was given short shrift while at Cal, Tedford is a fantastic coach and I suspect he had good reasons for bumping his freshman QB ahead of Reed (or bumping Reed to third string if you see it that way). So if Tomey decides that Eden or La Secla or Flynn is the best man for the job, I'm fine with that.
