Former MPC QB Holman honored

Monterey County Herald
Long overdue.
More than 40 years after quarterbacking Monterey Peninsula College to a Lettuce Bowl title in 1965, the late Dan Holman is being inducted into the Junior College Football Hall of Fame.
A Junior College All-American in 1965, Holman led MPC to 10-1 mark. The Lobos offense was ranked in the top 10 in the nation and top five in the state.
Holman went on to San Jose State and was an eighth round selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1967. He was inducted into the MPC Hall of Fame in 1995.
Holman becomes the fifth player or coach from MPC to be enshrined, joining Nate Wright, Herman Edwards, Luke Phillips and Chris Pappas.
Some of the names in the Junior College Hall of Fame are Bill Walsh, Tony Teresa, John Madden, O.J. Simpson, Jeff Garcia, Randy Vataha and Jim Zorn.
