I believe it was his coach, a Spartan alum, who tried to get his star player into a FBS school. There's a higher level of competition, but with the recent announcement that Wisconsin will be hosting the Mustangs next year just before Thanksgiving, Budd should at least get a good look at a Big Ten stadium...if he makes the travel squad.
