Great list of high school players named to the Contra Costa Times annual "Cream Of The Crop" list, dating back to 1983. Lots of Spartans mentioned. One interesting comment I noticed: Joe Bates (Skyline), CB, Laney/San Jose St. -- Did not qualify academically for SJSU. Being recruited by Hawaii. Has two seasons left."
