I for one do follow the budget mess closely and there may be something to what you are saying but...
What does it cost to have the coaches’ show up with some video on the players and possibly a couple of the local players, the cheer squad and pep band and the mascot? The SF could set up a booth to sell memberships; the ticket office could give out info or better yet, sell season tickets as well as remaining hoop tickets and baseball. Spartan squad could have a table setup for membership as well as the alumni association. It could be on campus like at the EC and sell the food and drinks. It's not a huge deal not having it, I just think it is a missed opportunity to continue to do something about marketing football and Spartan Athletics in general and it makes us look small time to our fellow WAC members as well.
