Madden was arrested for having a weapon in his car-- his mother maintains that he carried it for protection (going to Compton JC and all).
Police stopped him after someone identified his car as leaving the scene of a house burglary. The robbers were killed by the cops AND they were unarmed.
I think it is a matter of being at the wrong place at the wrong time... Why would the get-away car be armed and the robbers not?
And, before we throw stones: Colt Brennen was a convicted felon.
Rumor has it (no confirmation) that coach Tomey visited him when he was down there...
