This one is clear cut -- Jones' move to SMU cost Hawaii this kid. This should also lay to rest that myth of kids signing because of a school and not because of the coaches. This does raise the question of did new Hawaii coach Greg McMakin even try to keep the kid coming to the islands or did he plays hands off?

Katy quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, who had originally committed to Hawaii, said Sunday he decided to follow new SMU coach June Jones and switch his oral commitment to the Mustangs.
Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a recruit in the class of 2008 can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 6.
Mitchell (6-1, 199), who visited SMU this weekend, said he was headed to Hawaii because of Jones and quarterbacks coach Dan Morrison, so the Mustangs made sense. Mitchell also had a good vibe after spending time on the SMU campus.
“They’re really cool guys, Mitchell said, “And SMU is a nice school and the community is ready to win.”
