I can name three reasons right of the bat as to why Fresno State can keep a coach longer than we can.
One, he is the highest paid WAC coach and it is comparable to some of the lower to middle tier BCS teams without the pressure of coaching those types of teams as well as cost of living for him and his coaches.
Two, the support he gets from the President and Athletic Director in terms of budget and the like.
Three, the support he gets from the school, students, and community in terms of attendance, donations and general support of the football program an a bonus reason is he has deep loyalties to the Fresno community.
And yes it would suck if Tomey left because I doubt we could fine someone with as high a profile and respect as DT at this point and as far as I'm concerned, no one on the current staff is ready to be a head coach.
