Correct!
1981 Conference Champions Team - Innaugural California Bowl Participants
Tell me one Spartan that had a better staff
than this one. Kerr, Erickson, McMackin all
have coached in the NFL recently.
Elway - HC (Rest in peace!)
Gilbert DC (Retired in Sierra foothills)
Erickson - OC (Curr. @ Arizona St. HC)
Sullivan - O Line (Retired)
Gaskins - D Line (Retired)
Baldwin - Wide Outs (Curr. Michigan St. OC)
McMackin - Def Secondary (Curr. @ Hawaii DC)
Kerr - LB's (Curr - Duke LB's)
Rasnick - Grad Assist. (Curr. Insurance Sales)

: Baldwin was on that staff as receivers coach
: and wasn't Rasnick and wally Gaskins as
: well?

: Not sure about "best coach" but
: best
: coaching staff had to be Elway, Gilbert as
: defensive coordinator and Erickson as
: offensive coordinator. Not sure we will
: ever be able to best that staff.

: It is difficult to distinguish who was the
: better
: coach. One thing that I remembered the most
: was
: the outstanding talent we had in key
: positions.
: Back then we're simply superior to most
: teams
: and it was wonderful to attend those games.I
: thought Elway was a bit more of gambler in
: play
: calling but I may be wrong here, long time
: ago.

: Who do you think was the best coach out that
: list below Roers, Elway, Gilbert and Shea? I
: would personally pick Gilbert but I am sure
: everyone has there own professional opinion.
