Sims converted to defense after having played running back his freshman year for Butte. The switch to defense paid off for Sims, as he was named a 1st Team JC All-American by the JC Athletic Bureau last week.
He recorded 72 tackles, three interceptions, and five fumble recoveries. He made numorous big plays, including a 99 yard fumble return, a 98 yard return of a blocked extra point, a 106 yard return of a blocked field goal, and an 86 yard kick-off return (all for scores).
