He's on his way to Alabama-Birmingham:
UAB has signed four junior college players expected to enroll in January and are pushing to add some to that list.
UAB
Four junior college players expected to enroll in January
Three of the signees - linebacker Kyle Roget (6-1, 235) and offensive linemen Ryan Roget (6-3, 285) and Daniel Seahorn (6-2, 300) - come from Tyler Junior College in Texas. The other signee is safety Chris Assily, who played in high school football in Hawaii and junior college at Orange Coast Community College in Southern California.
The Tyler JC trio was coached in junior college by Danny Palmer. Palmer was an assistant coach at Houston when current UAB offensive coordinator Kim Helton was the head coach and current UAB head coach Neil Callaway was an assistant coach.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Assily starred at Kaiser High in Honolulu before coming to Orange Coast. He had 56 tackles and four interceptions in his second season at Orange Coast and was named the school's Male Athlete of the Year. He signed with San Jose State following the 2006 season but spent this past season at Orange Coast working on academics. Steve Irvine --
