I say get rid of La Tech and don't replace them until SDSU or UNLV is ready to join the WAC.

: Don't know if this is old news, new news or no
: news but my preference is try and land some
: new teams in the conference either from
: California, Oregon or Washington and lose LA
: TECH.
:
: You cannot even fly into Ruston direct so it
: is a hassle for teams to get there. Plus,
: it's really off by itself geogrpahically.
:
: BUt who to take its place, let alone trying
: to add another team or teams?

: From the WAC MB are some cut-n-pastes;
:
: 'Karl Benson Says North Texas Has A Standing
: Invitation To WAC
:
: According to threads on the Louisiana Tech
: and North Texas boards, WAC Commissioner
: Karl Benson said during a halftime interview
: on Saturday that the Mean Green still have a
: standing invitation to the league."

: "Re: Benson's Comment on North Texas
:
: Hello Bulldog Fans,
:
: When North Texas was offered an invitation
: to the WAC a few years ago, we would have
: accepted if Arkansas State and ULL would
: have also been accepted. Otherwise, it would
: be Big West II for us. Few fans would travel
: to Denton, few Mean Green fans could make
: the road games, and the local media wouldn't
: be able to cover all those west coast start
: times."

:
: The WAC issue is so difficult to quantify.
:
: The positives are obvious. The Negatives are
: a little less obvious, but none the less,
: important.
:
: The travel expenses for the team aren't that
: big of an issue which has been pretty well
: documented. The ability for an NT (or
: LaTech) fan to travel to away games becomes
: a bigger issue in the WAC than it is now, or
: than it would be in CUSA. If Boise LEAVES
: the WAC, than the WAC is no stronger than
: the 'belt, espeically with the improved play
: of the 'Belt teams of late.
:
: The automatic respect we would get by not
: being in the 'Belt would be overshadowed by
: the instability in the WAC.
:
: I've been back and forth on this one, but I
: think in light of where our program is now
: and where the 'Belt seems to be heading, our
: administration has done the right thing by
: keeping us out of the WAC for the time
: being.
:
: There is nothing wrong with the WAC, it just
: isn't a good fit for North Texas."
