Berkeley's Wright going to Boise

Faraji Wright is the first, but he certainly won't be the last.
Wright became Alonzo Carter's first football player at Berkeley High to commit to play in college.
A 6-foot-3, 273-pound left tackle, Wright verbally committed on Sunday to continue his football career at Boise State. Wright chose the Broncos over San Jose State, Sacramento State, UNLV, Utah State, Montana State and Portland State.
"(Carter) was the reason I got to Boise," said Wright. "They weren't recruiting me at first, but (Carter) had a former player go there and that helped me out."
In eight seasons at McClymonds, Carter helped send 60 kids to play Division I football.
The Yellowjackets could also have Jamar Smith, Anastacio Zamba, Justin Long and Elliott Dorsey commit to Division I schools, Carter said.
Wright was a big reason why Berkeley (6-5-1) won its first outright Alameda Contra Costa Athletic League title since 2002. The Yellowjackets rushed for 1,971 yards and a majority of that was to Wright's side.
"He has long arms, and he hasn't fully developed yet," said Carter about Wright. "He has worked very hard at getting his footwork together."
